I strive to provide treatment in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere as well as work closely with family members.
Treatment is goal-oriented, structured, and individualized.
Reading and written language treatment strategies are research-based and provide a strong foundation in phonological awareness, sight words, vowel patterns, syllable types and include Latin based prefixes, suffixes and root words.
Parents are encouraged to be a part of the therapy sessions and learn along with their children.
Experience
After working in a public-school setting for 8 years, I joined a pediatric private practice in Woodinville, Washington in 2001. Beginning in September 2013, I opened a practice focused on developmental language disorder, dyslexia and dysgraphia. I am PROMPT trained for levels 1 and 2. The following are some of the programs utilized during reading, spelling and written language intervention: Writing Matters, The Writing Revolution, and Wired For Reading ®.
